VMware View™ 5 with PCoIP® Improvements Verified Through Liquidware Labs Stratusphere UX™

Significant improvements to protocol performance and bandwidth utilization validated through benchmarking measurements of Stratusphere UX solution

LAS VEGAS, NV., August 31, 2011 - Today at VMworld® 2011, Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation solutions, announced that the latest version of its award-winning Stratusphere UX™ desktop virtualization solution will be integrated with VMware View™ 5. With the integration, users will have deep-level visibility into the performance of the new VMware protocol layer.

New in VMware View 5 are significant enhancements in the PCoIP® protocol that yield 75 percent bandwidth consumption reductions in both LAN and WAN deployments. Advancements like this from VMware expand the potential range of use cases, making it feasible for more types of desktop configurations to run on virtual desktops.

During pilot and on-boarding phases of VDI, desktop and infrastructure support require new solutions to provide granular visibility into the performance and operation of now virtualized subsystems. Within VDI, the user crosses various infrastructure ranging from endpoints and over various network protocols, and then through application servers, hypervisors, and storage subsystems. The ability to monitor and validate PCoIP performance by username as well as the related server infrastructure is critical to user-acceptance testing and smooth scaling during migration.

Liquidware Labs Stratusphere UX™ reads performance metrics directly from PCoIP APIs and is among the first solutions on the market to do so.
