Javascript Developer – User Interface Specialist
Liquidware Labs (located in Alpharetta, GA) is seeking a motivated individual to join an exciting young company in a full-time as a software engineer. This is a position for a candidate who has a solid software engineering background with strong experience in graphic design, user interface development, and working with Javascript UI frameworks such as Dojo and JQuery. This position offers a great opportunity to work on leading-edge software products related to virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with some or all of the following: DHTML, CSS, Dojo, JQuery, Flash, HTML5.
- Hands-on development of Javascript user interface.
- Create complete prototype user interface designs quickly from scratch.
- Develop pluggable and unit-testable UI widgets for configurable interfaces.
- Participate in the definition and design of new application interfaces.
The candidate must be results oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and must be flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of a small start-up company.
Required Skills To be effective in this position the candidate must be technically capable of performing assigned duties with limited direction. Specific knowledge and skills required for this position include:- Bachelors in CS or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of graphic design and user interface development for commercial software applications.
- 2+ years using javascript frameworks like Dojo, JQuery.
- Strong experience in some or all of the following: DHTML, CSS, Flash, HTML5, REST, Web services.
- Thorough understanding of memory management with Javascript frameworks.
- Proven experience in creating scalable interfaces and writing unit tests.
- Ability to quickly produce prototypes to evaluate look, feel and flow of new applications.
- Experience with software engineering best practices, including use of version control systems, change and defect tracking tools, and test automation tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Database Administrator (DBA)

This is a position for a candidate who has a solid software engineering background with strong experience in administration and tuning of either PostgreSQL or Oracle. This position offers a great opportunity for growth in a leading-edge software startup in the virtualization space. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with some or all of the following: PostgreSQL, Oracle, BIRT/Actuate reports, SQL performance analysis and tuning. The candidate should possess solid written and oral communication skills, and should enjoy working in a demanding but rewarding environment.
Specific Duties
- Administration, configuration, maintenance and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Linux appliance
- Design and optimize reports using open source frameworks like BIRT / Jasper
- Design OLAP / Star schema to enable data warehousing
- Work with engineers to design and tune application DB connections

Provide technical sales assistance to Sales opportunities and all related support including presentation, software installation and support of customer issues and requirements.
Key areas of responsibility
- Gain detailed, internal understanding of Liquidware Labs suite of products: Stratusphere & ProfileUnity
- Understand Sales process, Company Strategy, Competitive Landscape, and Documentation
- Perform technical product presentations including overview, architecture and use cases
- Demonstrate product features and capabilities
- Create custom reports based on customer requirements
- Perform training sessions for customers
- Perform software installation and help customers use the product for assessments, diagnostics, migrations, performance tuning and health checks
- Perform customer tech support function for ongoing sales opportunities
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues

Qualifications
- Strong customer facing interaction and presentation skills
- Presales + Post Sales Consulting experience a plus
- Very strong and deep technical background in virtualization, especially VMware ESX/View and Citrix XenServer a must
- Windows and Linux Administration
- SQL, JavaScript
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Software distribution
- Strong sense of customer service
- Must be open to learn, must take ownership, ready to wear multiple hats.
